Distance between ZIP codes

Straight-line distance between two ZIP or postal codes, in miles and kilometres.

How it works

The distance is the great-circle ("as the crow flies") distance between the centre points of the two code areas, computed with the haversine formula from the coordinates in our sourced database. Driving distance is typically 15–40 % longer, depending on the road network between the two points.

A ZIP code is a delivery area, not a single point, so the figure is the centre-to-centre distance — for neighbouring codes the real door-to-door range can vary by several miles. Results are shareable: the address bar updates with your query.

Need this in your own software or spreadsheet? The same lookup is one call on the free CodePostalPro API, and AI assistants can use it through our MCP server.
